This is my final post on this whole drama. I have to start off by saying that it is really something else to hear someone passionately defend what is just and true. It's difficult to comprehend the hysteria surrounding this Center, particularly hearing and reading the absurd, unsettling and mostly offensive vilifications that have been made of an entire community. The tendencies in many European nations (France, Switzerland, Germany, etc) vis-a-vis human rights and religion is extremely troubling for those that believe in social justice and equality. Hopefully the U.S. and Canada can avoid stepping into this vacuum of intolerance and bigotry. I truly believe that if we hold true to essential values and principles that we thankfully find in our Constitutions and other international conventions, that we can live in peace and harmony. Here's to hoping for a better tomorrow!
There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest. -Elie Wiesel
